Latrobe Bulletin Mon, Feb 17, 1986
John P. Ridilla, 73, of Latrobe RD 1 (Ridillatown) died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1986,
in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born June 12, 1912, in Ridillatown, a son of
the late Peter and Mary Kopcsak Ridilla. He retired in 1962 from Standard Steel;
was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS War Hawk,
and was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Youngstown, American Legion Post 515
of Latrobe and the VFW Post 3414 of Latrobe. Surviving are his wife, Margaret
Schall Ridilla; two daughters, Mrs. Robert M. (Peggy) Carr of Ridillatown and
Mrs. Raymond (Mary Lou) Kovalcik of Latrobe RD 6; seven grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; four brothers, Stephen of Ridillatown, Peter of Youngstown,
Andrew of Latrobe, Michael of Ridillatown, and two sisters, Anna Ridilla of
Ridillatown and Mrs. Peter (Mary) Urchek of Blairsville RD 5. He was predeceased
by one brother; one sister; one granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Richard W. Dell
Home for Funerals, 1543 Ligonier St.. Latrobe. Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church of Youngstown. Interment will
follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township.
