Saxman, one of Latrobe's best known citizens, collapsed and died almost instantly, at ten o'clock, this morning, according to a telegram received at the Saxman home, on East Main Street, early this afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Seaman left here on Tuesday to go to St. Jo to make a visit with Mr. and Mrs. George Barnhill, who are to leave shortly for California where they expect to make their home. Though in failing health for some time past, Mr. Seaman had seemed quite well before leaving; and he was out walking, this morning. when death overtook him, with great suddenness. He and Mrs. Saxman arrived in St. Jo last evening. Mr. Saxman was in his 71st year. He was born on a farm near Delmont, and came to Latrobe in the year 1885, to engage in business here. For many years, up until his death, he conducted a successful real estate and insurance business. He was an active member of the Latrobe Methodist Episcopal church and had served on the board of trustees for many years. Mr. Saxman is survived by his widow and three daughters, Miss Elizabeth, Mrs. James T. Hughes and Mrs. George Barnhill. No arrangements have been made as yet, regarding the funeral. Latrobe Bulletin Sat, Apr 22, 1922 The funeral services for the late Charles W. Saxman whose sudden death occurred in St. Jo, Michigan, Thursday morning, will be held at the family residence, on East Main street. at 3:30 o'clock, Monday afternoon. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. H. N. Cameron, superintendent of the McKeesport District of the Methodist Episcopal church, together with the Rev. E. Wilson Kelley, pastor of the Latrobe Methodist Episcopal church of whose board of trustees the late Mr. Saxman had been a member for many years. The body was brought home from St. Jo, this afternoon, accompanied by Mrs. Saxman and by Mr. and Mrs. James T. Hughes.
