Latrobe Bulletin Thu, Jul 18, 1929

Members of the family worked for several minutes yesterday afternoon, before
they were able to reach the body of Mrs. Katherine Schmucker, aged 43, whose
sudden death occurred in a small out-building, at her home near Lycippus. When
she was stricken, she fell forward against the door, the weight of her body
holding it shut. Mrs. Schmucker had been in ill health for some time. Misfortune
has borne heavily upon the Schmucker family recently. One of their boys is still
confined to his bed recuperating following a serious attack of typhoid fever.
Mrs. Schmucker is survived by her husband, John Schmucker, and the following
children: Mrs. Marie Henry, of near Latrobe; Paul, Charles, Katherine and
Bernard, all at home. Funeral services will be held at St. Vincent’s.
