Shaffer, of Robinson near Bolivar, who took his life by the poison route, last Saturday afternoon, while visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hunter, in Kingston, the funeral services were carried out yesterday afternoon, the services being held in the Brethren Church at Robinson, with interment following in the Blairsville cemetery. The note bearing the date of August 14th, was addressed to the man's wife at Robinson. In it, the writer asks forgiveness for what he was about to do, and he directed the arrangements for his funeral, specifying where the services and interment should take place, and giving the name of Rev. John Clawson, of Philadelphia, as the minister who should be secured to conduct the services. Mr. Shaffer was the owner of a service station and store in Robinson. He had left home five weeks ago, visiting for a part of the time at Kingston with his daughter.
