Mrs. Samuel H. Shaffer Mrs. Carrie Shaffer, 83, formerly of 1013 Jefferson St.,
Latrobe, died Monday. Born July 23, 1896, in Braddock, she was daughter of the
late Harry and Esther Smith Nichols. She formerly was employed in the laundry at
Latrobe Area Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Harry
Shaffer in 1968. Surviving are three sisters. Mrs. Myrtle Wilkins of Latrobe,
Mrs. Elsie Stouffer of McKeesport and Mrs. Violet Campbell of Pittsburgh. and 17
grandchildren. Family will receive friends in Richard W. Dell Home for Funerals,
Latrobe, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 94).m. Wednesday. Funeral
services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Thursday with the
Rev. John L. Reiner, , officiating: Interment will follow in Shirey Cemetery,
Unity Township.
