Robert E. Shaffer, SS, of Ligonier RD S died Wednesday in St. Francis Hospital,
Pittsburgh. He was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Ligonier, a son of the late Norman and
Rena Roadman Shaffer. He was a farmer and a member of the Calvary United
Methodist Church in Ligonier. He is survived by his widow, Wilda Jean Shaffer;
two sons, John. and Philip, both of Ligonier; four sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Ida
Mae) Coleman of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Mary Louise Danko of Hanover, Pa., Mrs.
Glen (Wilma June) Mosteller of Allentown and Mrs. Carla Dee Jeffries of
Pasadena, Md.; three brothers, William E. of Ligonier, Norman Jr. of Boswell and
Raymond of Dundalk, Md., and one grandchild. Friends will be received in Howard
S. McCabe Funeral Home, 244 W. Main St., Ligonier, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be held in the funeral home at 1
p.m. Saturday with the Rev. James Fogg Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in
Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite
charity.
