Betty I. Shaffer, 70, of 123 Park St., Derry, died Sunday, July 12, 1992, in her
home. She was born April 2, 1922, in Derry, a daughter of the late Benjamin C.
and Sarah Elizabeth Deemer Shaffer. She was a member of Derry First United
Methodist Church and Derry Golden Agers. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin C. Shaffer Jr. in 1977. She is survived
by a sister, Mrs. John (Mary Louise) Rygiel of Polebridge, Mont., and several
nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral Home, 548 N.
Chestnut St., Derry. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral
home , with the Rev. Dr. Merritt H. Edner officiating. Interment will be in
Coles Cemetery, Derry.
