Mr. Shannon was well known in this section. He was one of the earliest settlers of Youngwood. He formerly was a freight conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad, but had been retired for a number of years. He is survived by his widow, Ella Shannon; one son, John Shannon, and three daughters, Mrs. Loretta McClellan, Mrs. Irene Lonad and Mrs. Gertrude Coatts. Funeral services will be held at the Shannon home, at Youngwood, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. S. L. Johnson officiating. Interment will be made in the Hillside Cemetery.
