James D. Shaw Sr., 71, of Hutchinson, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007. He was
born Oct. 5, 1935, in Armbrust, a son of the late Don and Beulah (Kennell) Shaw, who
were formerly of Alverton. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Rae;
a brother, Don Shaw, and two sisters, Ellen Thomas and Peggy Gratzinger. He is
survived by his wife of 51 years, Daryl (Magill) Shaw; sons, Joel (Kay) Shaw and Jim
(Linda) Shaw; a daughter, Shelly (Jody) Stewart; grandchildren, Justin, Julie and
Jason Proctor, Nathan and Autumn Shaw, McKenzie Stewart and Billy Rae Jr., and two
brothers, Bob (Kay) Shaw and Bill Shaw. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as
a machinist by National Hydraulics in Mt. Pleasant. Jim was a great fisherman and
outdoorsman. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the
Smithton American Legion. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the J.
WILLIAM MCCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., 901 Vine St., West Newton. Pastor Keith
Solomon will officiate. Interment will be private.
