William R. Shawley, 84, of Stahlstown, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, at his
home. He was born May 3, 1937, in Stahlstown, a son of the late Harvey and Elizabeth
Harbaugh Shawley. William had worked as a pipeline worker and later as a sawyer for
Ivan Kalp Lumber. He attended the UP Church in Stahlstown. William will be sadly
missed but fondly remembered by his brother and his sister. In addition to his
parents, William was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Ann Sanner Shawley, on Dec. 29,
2005; his daughter, Vicki Sue Klook; and his sisters, Dolly Zufall and Margaret
Tinkey. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in
the MARK C. BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal
Building Road, Melcroft (724-455-2310), where a funeral service will be held at 11
a.m. Saturday. A committal service and interment will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery,
Champion.
