John Hurst Shields, 82, died at 10 am Monday at his home at New Alexandria. For 18
years postmaster there and former Salem Township School Board president and also
former tax collector, he leaves his widow, Mrs. Mary Shirley Shields; three
daughters, one son, one foster daughter, two sisters and two brothers of New
Alexandria. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday at the home in
charge of Revs. S. Arthur Falman & J. H. Douds
