Latrobe November 9, C. F. Shirey, father of attorney Edgar Shirey, a member of the
Westmoreland County Bar, died at his home in Unity township this morning, after an
illness of a week. He was 62 years, 11 months and 3 days old. He is survived by his
wife and one daughter, Mrs. F. E. Strobel, of Ridgeway, and five sons: Edgar R.,
Charles M., of Unity township; Thomas L., of Derry; Dr. Harry W., of Williamsburg,
and Frederick W., at home. Mr. Shirey was prominently identified with St. John's
Lutheran church where funeral services will be held at 10:30 Saturday morning. He
was a former county auditor and assessor and also a member of the school board.
