Charles J. Shirey, 78, of 637 Highland Avenue, Greensburg, died Monday, March
29, 1976 at his residence. Mr. Shirey was born February 6, 1898 in Latrobe, a
son of the late Frank E. and Caroline (Lang) Shirey Sr. He was a member of the
United Methodist Church in Greensburg and of the FOAM, No. 331 for over 50
years. Preceded in death by his wife Garnet (Kimmel) Shirey, he is survived by
one brother, Laurence J. Shirey of Ligonier and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Owen Wolford Funeral Home,
Ligonier at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday). Interment followed in the Ligonier Valley
Cemetery.
