Latrobe Bulletin Mon, Jul 26, 1965
Miss Rebecca Elizabeth Shirey, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Emory
(Alice) Shirey, Youngstown, 9:10 a.m. Saturday. Born Unity Township, March 15,
1881, daughter of late John and Sarah Armel Shirey. Taught school for a number
of years in Unity and Derry Township Schools. Surviving brother, John F. Shirey
Sr., Youngstown; sisters, Mrs. George (Nellie) Hughes, Oakmont; Mrs. Emory
(Alice) Shirey, Youngstown; Mrs. Edward (Mabel) ) Poche, Weltytown; several
nieces and nephews. Friends received at the M. S. Hartman Funeral Home from 3 to
5 and 7 to 9 p.m. with services in the chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev.
Russell Riethmiller officiating. Interment in St. James Cemetery, Youngstown.
