Marion Victor Shirey, 77, of Greensburg died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997, in
Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born March 1, 1920, in
Youngstown, a son of the late Emory O. and Alice Belle (Shirey) Shirey. Prior to
his retirement, he worked from the Plumbers and Plpefitters Union Local 354 with
Tamasy and Sons. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and
regularly attended McKenna Community Senior Center, both in Greensburg. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loucetta
Elizabeth “Settie" Shirey; his son, Ralph Victor; sister, Evelyn B. Lenhart, and
a brother, Ralph E. He Is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alan (Kay Loucetta)
Herrie of Alamosa, Colo., and Mrs. Loren (Jane Elizabeth) Rivers of Latrobe RD
4; seven grandchildren: Scott and Gregory Harrold, Jason and Jennifer Horde,
Mrs. John (Barbara) Prinkey, Brian Carr (and his wife, Colleen) and Bradley
Carr; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Herrie, Jane, Tyler, Michael and Matthew
Prinkey and Paul Carr; a brother, Everett E. of DuBois, and several nieces and
nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Gaut-
Bacha Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity, where funeral service will be held at
10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Jeffrey P. Paschal officiating. Interment will
follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Unity Township.
