Miss Mary D. Short, 83, of 1301 Ligonier St., Latrobe, died Tuesday morning in
Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1891, a daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. George (Ella Barnett) Short. She was a member of Holy Family Church and
was a retired school teacher, teaching the major portion of her career at St.
Vincent School. She was a member of St. Vincent Auxiliary and the Rosary Altar
Society of Holy Family Church. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. William (Mary
Elizabeth) Berry of Port Arthur, Tex.; one nephew, Frank C. Thomas of
Jacksonville, Fla, and four grandnieces and grandnephews. The family will
receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. starting Wednesday at the John J.
Lopatich Funeral Home, Latrobe. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday in Holy Family Church. Interment will follow in St. Martin Cemetery, New
Derry. The Rosary Society of Holy Family Church will recite the rosary at 7:30
p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
