Latrobe Bulletin Fri, Mar 23, 1956 
John A. Showalter, former Latrobe and Homestead resident, died Tuesday in
Spenser Hospital, Meadville. A former Pittsburgh police officer, be was the son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Showalter, Latrobe. He was a member of St. Mary
Magdelene Church, the Fraternal Order of Police, V.F.W. Post 373 and American
Legion Post 60 of Homestead. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Agnes Myers Showalter,
two sisters, Sister Anastasia of DePaul Institute, and Sister Immaculate, St.
Mary's, Pa., and a brother, Vincent, Detroit. A requiem high mass was offered
today at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Magdelene Church, Homestead. Interment followed in
Calvary Cemetery.
