Ralph W. Sims Jr.
Tarentum

   Ralph W. Sims Jr., 75, of Tarentum died Tuesday morning (Nov. 26, 2002) in 
Harmar Village Care Center, Harmar.
   Born Jan. 18, 1927, in Finley Township, he lived in Tarentum for most of 
his life
   A Veteran, he served in World War II with the Army.
   He was a roofer at Carl Garrett & Son, Inc., Tarentum, before retiring in 
1991.
   Mr. Sims was a member of Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church and a 55 years 
member of Highland Hose Volunteer Fire Company, Harrison, where he served as 
Chief and Assistant Chief. He was a member of the Allegheny Valley and Western 
Pennsylvania Firemans Association.
   He enjoyed traveling, fishing and walking.
   Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Johnston Sims; a son, Dennis W. Sims 
of South Fayette Township; four brothers, Richard (Shirley) Sims, Robert 
(Donna) Sims and James (Lisa) Sims, all of Tarentum and William (Patricia) 
Sims of Harrison; and four sisters, Mrs. Connie (Howard) Baker and Audrey 
Wilson, both of lower Burrell, Mrs. Eileen (Henry) Geahry of Tarentum and Mrs. 
Carol (Anthony) Licata of Arnold.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph W. and Dorabell Ross Sims 
Sr.; and a sister, Betty Jane Boda.
   A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Natrona 
Heights Presbyterian Church, Broadway Boulevard and Idaho Street. The family 
suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice, 
Arrangements are under the care of THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 
Blawnox.
