Richard S. Sipe, 50, 910 Fairmont Street, Latrobe, died 11:15 a.m. Tuesday,
Latrobe Hospital. Born November 13, 1912, Latrobe, son of Mrs. Lydia S. Sipe.
who survives, and the late Loyal G. Sipe. Member Latrobe Methodist Church; life
member F. and A. M. 275. Latrobe; life member Syria Temple, Pittsburgh and
Consistory; Member Tall Cedars, Derry, Caravan Eight, Greensburg district
committee member Westmoreland-Fayette Council Boy Scouts; B.P.O.E. Lodge 907,
Latrobe; Loyal-Nanning Long Rifles, Shawnee Rangers, New Paris, Pa., active in
other sporting groups. Had 30 years service as employe of Vanadium Alloys Steel
Co.; formerly Latrobe merchant associated with James Stump in Hobby Shop. In
addition to mother, survivors are his widow, Mrs. Jean Carns Sipe; sons: Loyal
David and Weldon S., both at home; sister, Mrs. James Lillian Stump, Latrobe.
Friends at M. S. Hartman Funeral Home, 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services there 2
p.m. Friday, the Rev. W. B. Ruddock. Interment Unity Cemetery. Elks services at
funeral home 7:30 p.m. today; Masonic services there 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
