Latrobe Bulletin Fri, Jan 11, 1957 
Oma Pearl Shirey Smith, 72, 521 Brinker Ave., Latrobe, died Thursday at 10 p. m.
at the home of her sister. Mrs. G. W. Hughes, Oakmont. She was born April 19,
1884, in Unity Township and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church,
Youngstown. Her husband, Ernie E. Smith, preceded her in death. She is survived
by these brothers and sisters: Miss Elizabeth Shirey, Youngstown: Mrs. G. W.
(Nellie) Hughes, Oakmont; Mrs. Emory (Alice) Shirey, Youngstown; John F. Shirey,
Youngstown; Mrs. Edward F. (Mabel) Poch, Mt Pleasant R. D. 1. Friends will be
received at the Jame. P. Gaut Funeral Home, Pleasant Unity from 3 to 5 and 7 to
10 p. m. daily. Funeral services will be held Sunday in St James Lutheran
Church, Youngstown, at 3 pm with the Rev. Bruce R. Shaffer officiating,
interment will be in Unity Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church
from 2 pm until time of services.
