Speranza, 82, of 416 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, died yesterday (April 22, 1977) in Munster, Ind., after a short illness. He was born Feb. 15, 1895, in Italy. Mr. Speranza was a retired coal miner and veteran of World War I. He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Avonmore. He is survived by three sons: Earle B. of Avonmore, Dominick V. and Bernard E., both of Munster, Ind.; two daughters: Mrs. William B. Yockey of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Jill Coruey Hoak of Westport, Conn.; a brother, Ferminio of Nowrytown, and 12 grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Daniel J. Yockey Funeral Home, 512 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, today from 3 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. A parish wake service will be conducted in the funeral home tomorrow evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ambrose Church Monday (April 25, 1977) at 11:30 a.m. by the Rev. Patrick O'Connor, his pastor. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Avonmore.
