Steve P. Stanko, 75, of Latrobe died Saturday in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was
born March 12, 1904, in Latrobe (Lloydsville), the son of the late Andrew and
Agnes Stanko. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church,
Latrobe. He also was a lifetime member of the Lloydsville Sportsman's
Association and the Antique Auto Club, Latrobe. He was the former owner and
operator of the Stanko & Sons General Contractor Co., Latrobe. He was preceded
in death by his wife, Mary Madeline Zuzack Stanko, in January 1973; one brother,
Andrew, and one sister, Mrs. Ann O'Barto. Surviving are four sons, Stephen P.
Jr. and Franklin A., both of Latrobe, Walter T. of National City, Calif., and
Timothy P. of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Martha) Pernelli of Latrobe;
15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in Richard W. Dell Home for Funerals, 1543 Ligonier
St., Latrobe, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John the
Evangelist Church, Latrobe. Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery,
Latrobe.
