Latrobe Bulletin Tue, Jul 08, 1969
Rhea A. Steele, 59, 327 Summit Ave., Ligonier, died in the Latrobe Hospital this
morning. Born Dec. 25, 1910, in Derry Twp. Son of the late J. Elder and Dessa
Long Steele. Employed at the Latrobe Steel Co. for 36 years. Graduate of Geneva
College. Member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Ligonier, veteran of World
War II, past president of the Ligonier Chamber of Commerce, member Ligonier
Rotary Club and the Ligonier Country Club. Surviving widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Frye
Steele; son, Jeffrey M., at home; brother, Dr. James M., Lehighton, Pa. Family
will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily at the Sibel-Wolford
Funeral Home, Ligonier. Services will be held 2 pm Thursday in the chapel of the
funeral home in charge of Rev. George H. Wright, interment in Ligonier Valley
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
