John (Bones) Stranko, 73, of 853 Forest Ave., Latrobe (Dorothy) died Saturday
morning in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born in Baggaley, July 19, 1903, a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony (Sophie Girchek) Stranko. He was a member of
St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hillview Avenue, and the United Mine Workers
of America. He is survived by his widow, Veronica Nemcheck Stranko; two
daughters, Magdalen, at home, and Nora of Hartford, Conn.; three brothers and
two sisters, Joseph and Michael, both of Pittsburgh, Walter of Derry, Mrs.
Thomas (Stella) Petrosky of Indianola, Pa., and Mrs. Katherine Smith of
Pittsburgh, and one granddaughter, Gloria. The family will receive friends in
John J. Lopatich Funeral Home, Latrobe, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily.
Parastas services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Panichada
services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home followed by
Divine Liturgy in St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hillview Avenue. Interment
will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery.
