WELL KNOWN MUTE DIES
John Stump, aged 66, the last member of his family, died at the county home, last
evening, from a general breakdown. His parents, brothers and sisters died many years
ago. He was a mute, and for a long time his mind had been weak. His greatest delight
was to dress in uniform with many badges upon his breast. He lived in the county
home for a long time, but frequently would slip away, and travel over the county
where he was well known. (Obit: 8/31/1920)
