After an illness of two years, during most of which time she was practically
helpless and had to be constantly attended by her devoted husband, death came, last
evening, at 6:30 to relieve Mrs. Elizabeth Stump, wife of John A. Stump, of West
Derry. The age of Mrs. Stump, which was 69 years, one month and 29 days, was against
her in the fight with disease, multiple sclerosis having been the contributory cause
of a general physical breakdown, some months ago.
Surviving her are the husband and the following children: Joseph Stickel, James
Stickel, Philip Stickel, Thomas Stickel and Armstrong Stickel, of Latrobe; and Mrs.
Benjamin Neil of West Derry. Mrs. Stump was twice married, the sons being by the
first marriage. She was a sister of Joseph Eaton, of Latrobe. Mrs. Stump was a
member of the Lutheran church. Funeral services will be held, probably, Sunday
afternoon. Interment to follow in Youngstown, Pa.
