Mrs. John F. Thompson, 66, of 317 Hickory Ave., Derry, died 
Tuesday morning. She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Cleveland, 
Ohio, the daughter of the late Philip K. and Elizabeth 
(McBroom) Overly. She was a retired secretary for the 
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Harrisburg. She 
was a member of Derry First Presbyterian Church and Latrobe 
Loyal Order of Moose. She was preceded in death by her 
husband John F. Thompson in 1946. Surviving are three sons: 
Gary R. of Allentown; and Jon Alan and Phillip B., both of 
Derry; two sisters, Mrs. Everett (Gladys) White of Dallas, 
Texas, and Mrs. Hazel Hall, Richmond, Va., and four 
grandchildren... Funeral services will be held at 1 pm 
Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Peter S. Wendell 
officiating. Interment will follow at the convenience of the 
family.
