Mrs. Aphrodite "Freddie" Tofaute, 62, of East High Acres, Unity Township, died
Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1995, at her residence. She was born Aug. 25, 1933, in Martins
Ferry, Ohio, a daughter of Mary Augoustidis Sasses of Boca Raton, Fla., and the
late Louis Sasses. She was a graduate of West Liberty State University in West
Liberty, W. Va. She was a dedicated employee of the American Cancer Society and
also had worked as a dental hygienist. She was a former member of the Church of
the Life-Giving Fountain Greek Orthodox Church in Martins Ferry. In addition to
her father, she was preceded In death by an Infant sister, Kaillopi Sassari. In
addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, William G. Tofaute; a
son, Timothy Scott Tofaute, a U. S. Navy Seal stationed at the Naval Air Station
in Fallon, Nev.; a daughter, Margaret Anne Tofaute, at home, and a sister, Irene
Gardner of Boca Raton. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday in Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe.
Additional viewing will be held Friday in Borkoskl Funeral Home, Tiltonville,
Ohio, with funeral service Saturday. Arrangements will be announced. Memorials
may be made to the American Cancer Society, 152 E. Otterman St., Greensburg, PA
15601.
