Raymond D. Tustin, 87, of Youngstown passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at his residence. He was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Washington, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Raymond and Dessie (Smart) Tustin. Raymond was a pastor for almost 50 years at various local churches and was a member and elder of the Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church. For many years, he and his wife reached out to those in need and were always willing to lend a helping hand. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Latrobe Steel Co. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia L. Adams Tustin; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Tustin, and his brother, Paul Tustin. Raymond is survived by two sons, Orville Tustin of Youngstown and Thomas Tustin and his wife, Vanessa, of Latrobe; two grandchildren, Douglas Tustin and his wife, Heather, and Jackie Tustin; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Levi; two sisters-in-law, Patricia "Patsy" Tustin of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Kay Kendall of Townsend, Georgia; nephews the Rev. Gary Tustin, Kenneth Tustin and Allen Tustin, and several other nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in John J. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with his nephew the Rev. Gary Tustin officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Youngstown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Johnstown Christian Fellowship or Westmoreland County Food Bank.
