She was in her 93rd year. Mrs. Ulerich retired from teaching in 1937 and taught or supervised three generations of Latrobe school children. Born in Sipesville, Somerset County, Oct. 1, 1871, the daughter of Henry F. and Julia Bossart Keener, she came to live in Latrobe in 1884. Her father previously had been a pastor of the Latrobe Reformed Church and during his tenure the church's first place of worship was constructed. Her mother was a daughter of Michael Bossart, one of the original settlers of Latrobe, whose general store stood on the corner of Main and Ligonier Streets. She graduated from the Latrobe High School in the class of 1889 and began teaching at the age of 18. In 1905 she was married to William W. Ulerich of Latrobe, former principal of Latrobe High School and later Westmoreland County Superintendent of Schools. Following her husband's death in 1914, Mrs. Ulerich resumed her teaching career. At various times she taught in the Second Ward School, was later supervising principal of the First and then the Fourth Ward Schools. In addition to her public school education, she also attended Indiana Normal School and Oswego Normal School, the latter in New York State. Mrs. Ulerich was a charter member of the Latrobe Order of the Eastern Star, the Civic Club and the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was the last of her generation. Following her retirement, she lived for some years in New York City with her daughter, Mrs. Anne U. Smith and until recently, in Clearfield, Pa., where her son, W. K. Ulerich, is publisher of the Clearfield Progress. She also leaves two granddaughters, Miss Patricia Anne Smith, New York City, and Miss Constance Kit Ulerich, currently a senior at the Pennsylvania State University. Friends will be received at the M. S. Hartman Funeral Home, Latrobe from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Unity Chapel, the Rev. Robert Rezash in charge.
