Melvin Thomas Washnock, 48, of Whitney, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, in Excela Health
Latrobe Hospital. He was born March 3, 1962, in Latrobe, to James Thomas Washnock,
of Latrobe, and the late Catherine (Felbaum) Washnock. Besides his mother, Melvin
was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Landon Newhouse. He is survived by his
father and stepmother, Thomas and Dixie Washnock, of Whitney; a stepson, Sean
Newhouse and wife, Anissa, of Whitney; a stepbrother, Robert Werner, of Latrobe; a
sister, Peggy Knauff and husband, Rex, of Mt. Pleasant; two stepsisters, Cindy
Buchanan and Dona Werner, both of Whitney; a step-grandson, Brandon Newhouse;
nephews, Rex and Stephen Knauff, of Mt. Pleasant, and Thomas Knauff, of Ligonier;
two step-nieces; and one step-nephew. There were no visitations. Services and
interment were private. Arrangements were handled by the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL
