Sarah ``Sally' Washnock, 88, of Latrobe, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, in Latrobe Area
Hospital. She was born May 30, 1913, in Manito, a daughter of the late Charles and
Elizabeth Weirs Murray. She was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe. She lived for
50 years in Falls Church, Va., where she was very active in the Civilian Army Ladies
Club. She was a homemaker, a seamstress and a beautician. She belonged to the YWCA
in Burke, Va., and was active in the Arthritic Swimming Club. She also volunteered
much time to Adelphoi, and attended St. Vincent Senior Center. In addition to her
parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Felix Cervi; her second husband,
John Washnock; a sister, Mary Agnes Murray; and two brothers, Charles ``Jiggs'
Murray and John Murray. Survivors include two daughters, Rita Hoffman and her
husband, Donald, of Latrobe and Sally Pruett and her husband, Charles, of Elkton,
Md.; four grandchildren, Donn M., Tracey, Lorien and Jonathan; five
great-grandchildren who were very special to her, Jennifer, Garrett, Kira, Nicholas
and Gracie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from
4 to 7 p.m. at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose Church with the
Rev. William P. Donahue as celebrant. Interment, Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
