Mr. Weis was sick only a few days, the disease which caused his death being pneumonia. He had been absent from home for a short time and contracted a cold which, developing into pneumonia, caused his death at the time above stated. He was well known throughout Western Pennsylvania having for a number of years conducted a distillery which he owned and at which he manufactured "Weis' Pure Rye Whiskey," a brand which became celebrated. Of late years he had been devoting his entire time to farming being the owner of one of the finest farms in this part of Westmoreland county. The old distillery is located near his late residence and is now under the control of C. J. McCauley. Mr. Weis was a member of the Lutheran church and his funeral will take place at 10 o'clock Thursday morning next, the interment to be in the Lutheran cemetery at Youngstown.
