Hoon, of senility, aged 87 years, 3 months, 20 days, his wife having preceded him a number of years. The interment took place in Presbyterian cemetery at Fort Palmer, last Saturday afternoon, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. E. H. Dickenson, DD. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. George Hoon, Mrs. John S. Kuhns, and William Welshonse, of Ligonier township; Mrs. W. D. Jones, Blairsville Intersection; Thomas Welshonse, West Newton; and Henry Welshonse, Youngstown, Pa.; also twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. He was one of the oldest members of the Ambrose-Bitner family and a life-long resident of Ligonier Valley.
