Richard D. "Ricky" Wenskowski Jr., 32, of Oklahoma Borough, passed away
unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born Oct. 17,
1984, in Natrona Heights, he was a son of Richard D. Wenskowski Sr., of Oklahoma
Borough, and the late Penelope "Penny" (Forsha) Wenskowski. Ricky lived in
Oklahoma all of his life, and attended Kiski Area High School. He also studied
fire service training at Bucks County Community College. Ricky worked in Peer
Support for Family Services of Western Pennsylvania for the last several years.
Ricky was a volunteer with the Oklahoma Volunteer Fire Department in Oklahoma
Borough, and was a member of many local fire companies. He enjoyed working as a
fire apparatus photographer, and was an expert on aquariums, with two in his
home. Ricky was as excellent cook, known for his delicious homemade chili and
pierogies. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal
grandparents, Casimer and Caroline Marie (Hoffman) Wenskowski Sr.; maternal
grandparents, Harold and Delores (Nolan) Forsha; and an uncle, Jesse Forsha.
Ricky is survived by his father, Richard D. (Sharon Viscusi) Wenskowski Sr.;
aunts and uncles, Rachel Crofutt, of Vandergrift, Carol (Richard) Olexsak, of
Butler, Casimer (Donald Graham) Wenskowski Jr., of Penn Hills, and Mary Lou
Remich, of Greensburg; and numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, in the CURRAN-
SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Additional
visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the celebration of life tribute
service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, in the funeral home.
