Mrs. Catherine Wetherton, a well known and highly respected resident of Unity
township, died suddenly, while seated in a chair at her home near Whitney, at 8
o'clock last evening, a stroke having carried her away with but a half-hour's
warning. She was aged 80 years and 10 days, and is survived by the following
children: Mrs. Ida Reese, of Armbrust; Mrs. Rebecca Shirley, of Whitney; Henry
Wetherton, of Whitney; William Wetherton, of Whitney; and James Wetherton of New
Philadelphia, Ohio. She is survived, also, by the following brothers and sisters:
John Dodds, of Youngstown; Mrs. Anna Smith, of Youngstown; Mrs. Rebecca Weyland, of
Youngstown; Mrs. Sarah Harrison, of Turtle Creek; and Mrs. Caroline Newcomer, of
Latrobe. Funeral services will be held in St. James Lutheran Church, at Youngstown,
at 11:00 o'clock tomorrow morning, and will be followed by interment in the
Youngstown cemetery.
