David S. Wilkins, 86, of Stahlstown RD 1, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1986, at home.
He was born May 13, 1900, in Mount Pleasant Township, a son of the late Edward
F. and Rhoda Dillon Wilkins. Prior to his retirement, he was a carpenter. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie
Bungard Wilkins; his second wife, Ruth Ross Wilkins; his third wife, Margaret
Cochran Wilkins; one daughter, Jane Kantorik; two sons, Wayne and Ray Wilkins;
three sisters, Hazel Olson, Betty McDonald and Bertha Barkley, and two brothers,
Harry and Oliver Wilkins. He is survived by three sons, Roy of Mechanicsville,
Md., David Allan of Capitol Heights, Md., and Lee Wilkins of Alexandria, Va.;
five daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Emma Jean) Shreves of Mount Pleasant RD 4, Evelyn
Orczyk of New Kensington, Mrs. Dean (Dorothy) Mayes of New Stanton, Mrs. Ray
(Mildred) Hull of Uniontown and Mrs. Michael (Hazel) Worch of McClellandtown; 30
grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, and three brothers: Oscar, of Mount
Pleasant RD 5, James of Rochester, N.Y., and Melvin Wilkins of Acme RD 1.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 3 to S and 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday in James P. Gaut Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity. Additional viewing
will take place in Kingdom Missionaries Church, Ruffsdale RD 1, Friday from 10
to 11 a.m., the time of service, with Paul Gressly officiating. Interment will
follow in Fairview Cemetery near Kecksburg.
