An internet search of genealogy sites revealed that there was an 
original tombstone for Johan Michael Zundel and the inscription read: 

Her ruhet Johan Michael Zundel.
Er ward geboren den 25ten Julius 1757
und starden 14ten August 1844.
Sein ganzes Alter war 87 Yahren
und 19 tagen.
Selig sind die reis herzens sind,
denn sie werden Gott schauen.

Here rests Johan Michael Zundel.
He was born on July 25, 1757
and died August 14, 1844.
He lived a total of 87 years
and 19 days.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.
