Will book 5 p126 No 20 of 1867 In the name of God Amen, I George Ament Sr of the Township of Franklin, County of Westmoreland, and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind and memory and considering of his frail mind transisting life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner following that is to say, I order that all my just debts, funeral expenses and charges of proving this, my will, be paid in the first place out of my personal estate and effects fully paid and the residue of my goods, chattels, household furniture and monies due me at the time of my death shall be appraised and the proceeds after sale shall be equally divided between my beloved wife Elizabeth and my daughter Mary, share and share alike, giving each other of them whomever the right to take any article of property at its appraised value before sale and the amounts taken shall become fully distributed________final distribution between them so that their shares may be fairly equalized. Next I give and bequeath all my Real Estate to my beloved wife Elizabeth and my daughter Mary during their natural lives and in the event of death of any one of them then the survivor is to inherit the whole during her natural life. At the death of my wife Elizabeth and my daughter MaryI order that the Real Estate be sold to my executor and after defraying the expenses of sale, the balance of the money to be divided equally among my children or their heirs share and share alike the above bequests to my wife Elizabeth to be in lieu of dower. And last I constitute and appoint George Ament Jr executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at anytime made and declare this only to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said testator have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this tenth day of April eighteen hundred and sixty seven.
