Thompson Journals Written: May 16, 1782 Will of William Harrison of Westnd Co, Vol 1 p 3 transcribed record 1st directs all publick [sic] & private debts paid out of money due him from the State or States. If there should not be enough to discharge same exclusive of an account vs my honoured & well beloved mother which account I desire, may not be exacted or demanded of her, but the balance be & remain in her hands, during her natural life, unless she can with convenience & ease discharge the same, but Exrs to dispose of sufficient property to discharge my debts, taking care to not disturb my wife & children. Desires tract of land on which he resides to remain in possession of widow for maintenance of her & my children until youngest comes of age, when it shall be sold & money divided equally among my children. Desires land conveyed to me by Col Wm Crawford by deed dated May 14, 1782 as soon as present crop is taken off to be rented by my Exrs & profits applied to educating my children, my sons until they arrive at an age suitable to be bound apprentice & then to be bound to such trades as my Exrs judge their genius may be most likely to suit, & my daughters so long as they require schooling, at expiration of which time, beloved wife Sarah to have said tract of land forever & further directs 4000 A of land in my name on Licking Creek, Va devised as follows: To my beloved wife Sarah 500 A during natural life & then sold & money divided equally among my children or the heirs of their body lawfully begotten. 2d To my loving brother, Benjamin Harrison 500 A 3d Remaining 3000 A to be divided among my children giving unto each son 2/3 & each daughter 1/3 or in other words, each son 2 shares & each daughter one share & when youngest child comes of age, any personal property remaining be equally divided between my wife & children.
