Wills: Andrew Henderson, 1821: Hempfield Twp, Westmoreland County In the Name of God Amen The Seventh day of December one thousand Eight hundred & twenty one I Andrew Henderson of Hempfield township Westmoreland County State of Pennsylvania Do make & ordain this My last Will & Testament in man's following that is to say first I give & bequeath unto my Beloved wife Elizabeth the one third of My Estate personal & Real to use and Dispense of at her Will & pleasure after all Debt against My Estate is paid. To my Children according to their Births as follows To My Daughter Agnes I bequeath a horse & Saddle worth fifty Dollars one cow bed bedding & the one fourth part of My Real Estate as Soon as My Land Can be Sold & it is my Will that if my Daughter Agnes lives with my wife after she is of age & Layes in a bill for Wage that Said Bill is Reduced out of her Share & I Bequeath the remainder of My Estate Personal & Real to my Son Hugh it is my Will that My son Hugh possess Said Estate when he is twenty one years of age It is my will that my Beloved wife Elizabeth Should Sell the land that I now possess and purchase Elsewhere for herself & the rest of the Heirs If She Shall think it advisable at any time after my Decease (It is My will that my son Hugh provide my wife with a comfortable home to live in) & it is my Will When a purchase is Made by My wife Elizabeth that the land purchased Be divided in the proportion & manner aforesaid & I hereby Nominate & appoint my loving wife Elizabeth Sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament & Do revoke & disannull all former Wills or testaments by me heretofore made & Do seal this only to be my last will & testament In Witness wherefo I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this day & year aforesaid Andrew Henderson Signed Sealed published by the Said Andrew Henderson the testator who's last Will & testament In presense of us & at his request have set our names as Witnesses John McCurdy Hugh Henderson Westmoreland County Before me the Subscriber Register in & for the Said County personally came John McCurdy Esq. & Hugh Henderson Witnesses to the afore written Will who being duly sworn agreeably to the Law deposeth they were present & saw Andrew Henderson the testator therein Named, Sign pronounce & declare the same as his last Will & testament that the same time he was (they believe) of Sound mind memory & understanding, that they signed as Witnesses thereto (in the ) presence of the Testator & at his request & that the Names Signed as Witnesses John McCurdy & Hugh Henderson are handwriting of their deponants(sp) Sworn & subscribed the 31st January 1822 Robt Montgomery THE ORIGINAL SPELLING AND PUNCTUATION HAS BEEN DUPLICATED File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Douglas W.
