Wills: Charles Henderson Sr., 1827: Fairfield Twp, Westmoreland Co In the name of God Amen. I, Charles Henderson Sinr, of the Township of Fairfield in the County of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania being Sick and weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be to God: Calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it is apointed for all men once to die do make and Publish this my Last will and Testament And first I Recomend my Soul to God Almighty who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian decent maner at the discretion of my Ecutors and as Touching Such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me I give and Dispose of in the following manner. First I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Mary Two Cows one bed and beding and all the furniture She had when She became my wife likewise all she has made since that time also I alow her to rceive whatever is Considered necessary for her Support out of my real Estate and as Long as She Continues a widow and no Longer and as to all the rest of my Estate real and personel, I alow my Ecutors after my Deceas to Sell and after paying my funeral Expences and all my just Debts to Divide the ballance Equally Amongst my Children except my daughter Jane to whom I bequeath one Dollar over and above what She has received from me previous to this Time and I do hereby apoint Isaiah Davis and my Son James Sole Executors of this my Last will and Testamint in Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand Seal this Sixth day of Aprile one Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Seven his Charles Henderson mark Signed Sealed Published Pronouced and declared as the Last will of the Testator in Presence of Isaac Dushane and William McBeth Mrs Henderson agrees the above will Witness her Signiture March 8th 1828 her Mary Henderson mark Wit. Before me the Subscribed Register for the probate of Wills & Granting Letters of Administration in & for Said County Personally came Isaac Dushane and William McBeth the Subscribing Witnesses to the written Will who on their Solemn oaths say they present saw Charles Henderson the Estator therein Named Sign pronounce & declare Same was his last Will and testament That at the time of the Execution thereof he was as they believe of Sound Mind Memory & understanding & that they signed as Witnesses thereto in presence of the testator Sworn & Subscribed the 13th day Isaac Dushane of March A.D. 1828 Robert Montgomery Regis. William McBeth The above Last Will and Testament was written by hand but the signatures have a mark by the signatures of Charles and Mary Henderson. This indicates that they may have dictated their statements and possibly could not write. The signature of Samuel Henderson does not have a mark. This Last Will and Testament was filed with the Records Office on March 13, 1828 and numbered 926.
