I Samuel Hoey being weak in body but of sound an sound memory and calling to mind the weakness of human nature, I do hereby make this my last will and testament. In the first place I recommend my Soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent manner. I likewise give and bequeath my proprety in the following manner vix the plantation or a tract of land I now live on to be divided equally between my daughter, Ann Hoy and my son, James and Ann is to have the part with the Improvements on to hold the same after my decease and to her heirs or assigns forever. Likewise my loving daughter, Ann, is to have all my moveable property vx horses, cows, sheep, hogs, and house hold furniture of every descriptiong. I likewise give and bequeath to my Daughters, Elizabeth and mary Kerns one dollars each. Likewise my widow is to be supported by my daughrter Ann on the plantation we now live on viz in her part of the plantation. In the last place I appoint my friends, Michael Rugh and James Hutchison, Sr. executors of this my last will and testament. In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand (page 347) and seal this 22nd day of April in the year of our Lorad one thousand eight hundred and fourteen. Persoanlly came before me the register in and for said County came Andrew McElwain and John McElwain the subscribing witnesses to the written will and being duly sworn according to law, deposeth and saith that they were present and heard Samuel Hoey who is now deceased acknowledge and pronouce the within to be his last will and testament and at the time of his so doing he was of sound and disposing mind and memory that they signed the same in his presents and at his request that the names of these deponents is in their own proper handwriting.
