I, William Hughes, of the township of Derry, county of Westmoreland, state of Pennsylvania, being feeble in body, but of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to Will be my last will and testament; that is to say, First, after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, and my funeral expenses paid, the residue of my estate, I give and bequeath and dispose of as follows to wit: To my beloved wife her comfortable maintenance during her lifetime as provided for in the sale of my Real Estate, to my son Thomas G. Hughes by Article of Agreement dated the nineteenth day of July one thousand, eight hundred and fifty-three, and by deed bearing even date therewith, and recorded in the Recorder's Office in Greensburg, as Record will show. And to my son Joseph I bequeath the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, and to the heirs of my son John, the sum of fifty dollars to be divided equally among them, share and share and share alike. And to my daughter Rachael, the sum of one hundred dollars, and to the heirs of my daughter Mary, the sum of fifty dollars to be divided equally among them, share and share alike. And to my son William, the sum of two hundred dollars, and to my son Samuel B. the sum of two hundred dollars, and to my daughter Eliza, the sum of one hundred dollars, and to my son Isaac the sum of two hundred dollars, and to my daughter Nancy G., the sum of seventy-five dollars, and to my daughter Priscilla, the sum of fifty dollars, and to my son Thomas G. the sum of fifteen dollars, and to my son Alexander, the sum of one hundred dollars, and to my daughter Elizabeth, the sum of fifty dollars, and to my daughter Maria, the sum of two hundred dollars. I likewise give to my son Thomas my personal property that I have now in posession, for the sum of ninety-five dollars, to be paid on the first day of January, one thousand, eight hundred and sixty-five. The foregoing request to be paid annually out of the proceeds of the sale of my Real Estate, as the notes become due, to be divided equal in proportion, to each share, until the whole becomes due and paid. Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint my son Thomas and James G. McQuaide to be Executors of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the twenty-first day of April, one thousand, eight hundred, fifty-six. The said will above, was subscribed by the said William Hughes in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us, David C.
