Will of Barnabus Kerns 2757 p. 187 Westmoreland Will book 5 Last Will and Testament of Barnabas Kerns I (sic) the name of God Amen I Barnabas Kerns of Franklin Township in the County of Westmoreland And State of Pennsylvania being of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding but considering the uncertainty of this life think fit to make this my last Will and Testament in the following manner Viz I recomend my Soul into the hand of God and my body to the erth to be buried in a Christian manner and as tuching such worldly estate wharewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the Same in the following manner & form first I give and bequeath to Samuel Kerns my well beloved Son whom I constitute make and ordain the sole Executrix of this my will and Testament all and Singular my lands messuages and Tenements to Have and to Hold the same to his heirs and assigns forever. Also I give to my well beloved Daughter Margaret Kerns the sum of one hundred Dollars Lawfull Currant Money. Also I give to Mary Kerns my second daughter the sum of one Hundred Dollars Currant Money likewise I bequeath to Jean Kerns my my my third Daughter the sum of one Hundred dollars Currant Money. Likewise I bequeath to Anne Kerns my well beloved Daughter the sum of one Hundred Dollars Current Money this four Hundred dollars is to be taken off of and deducted from my property and Given to the four girls in the course of years. And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannull all and evry other former testament Legacies Bequeaths and Executares by me in any ways before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament provided that the said Barnabas Kerns is to have his Maintainance or living off the place. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Eighteenth day of May One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty two.
