Transcribed by James K. Markle for use on the UsGenWeb Dec 1997. I Christian Lash of South Huntingdon Township Westmoreland Co. PA. do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, and first I direct that my body be decently interred in the burying ground of the Funks Cemetery according to the rights and ceremonies of the United Brethren Church and as to such worldly estate as it has pleased God to intrust me with. I dispose of the same as follows. First I direct that all my funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first moneys that shall come into the hands of my executors from any portion of my estate real or personal. Also I direct that a fair valuation or appraisement be made by two judicious neighbors of all my said estate including my household furniture and to be sold at public auction, and that all the real estate of which I shall ---- seized or possessed shall be sold by my Executors for its reasonable value for good current money or at such credit and the amount thereof secured in such a manner as is usual in like cases to insure the full and punctual payment thereof and to effectuate this my intention. I do hereby vest in my Executors full power and authority to dispose of my real estate in fee simple or for a term of years or otherwise in as full, and ---- a manner in every respect as I could myself do if living. I give to my daughter Barbara Neff deceased one thousand dollars, it will take two hundred dollars more to make her two children Christian Neff and Elizabeth equal with my other children. I give to my son John twelve hundred dollars. I give to my daughter Elizabeth twelve hundred dollars, I give to my son Christian J. twelve hundred dollars. I give to my son Cephas H. twelve hundred. I direct if the present option on my coal is not sold my Executors shall dispose of the same either separate or with the surface as may be the best advantage. I direct as soon as convenient after the sale of my real estate all my just debts be paid. Any debts I may be bound for in notes or otherwise with my son John shall be deducted from his share of my estate. I direct that my children shall all share alike in the remainder of my estate Barbara's two children to take their mothers share. And I do hereby make and ordain John Lash and Cephas Lash Executors of this my last Will and Testament in virtue whereof I Christian Lash the testator have to this my last Will and Testament written on one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal this tenth day of May one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.
