We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ In the name of God Amen I James McCurdy of the township of Ligonier in the county of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania being old, but of sound mind memory and understanding (praised be God for the same) and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength and capacity so to do do make and publish this my last will & testament in manner and form following, hereby revoking and making void all wills by me at any time heretofore made And first and principally I commit my soul into the hands of my Creator who gave it and my body to the earth to be interred in a decent and Christian like manner. And as to such wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to hasten upon me I do hereby dispose of the same as follows viz. I allow all my Just debts and funeral expenses to be paid as soon as possible after my decease, I give and bequeath unto my two sons William McCurdy and George McCurdy my plantation or tract of land whereon I now reside to be enjoyed by them their heirs & assigns forever being about one hundred and ninety six acres to be enjoyed by my said two sons share and share alike­ allowing the said William that part adjoining Francis Little on the East­and the said George to have that part embracing the mansion house and old improvements adjoining lands of Robert Reed lands of Brady lands of ______ heirs of Henry Bash­lands of Jacob Bash and others ­ And I do allow that my said two sons William & George _____ and shall equally pay my debts viz. each one paying share and share alike ­ And I do order and allow that after my death my said two sons shall give unto my daughter Jane Martin, one horse creature or fifty dollars in cash and they shall also give to my daughter Barbara Hunter, one horse creature or fifty dollars in cash ­ And shall give unto my son John McCurdy at the Expiration of two years after my death the sum of one hundred dollars ­ and shall pay unto the heirs of my son Robert McCurdy deceased the sum of two dollars ­ and shall pay to my son James McCurdy the sum of ten dollars and to daughter Margaret McConaughy One dollar and fifty cents And to my daughter Agness Trindle One dollar and fifty cents ­ And to my daughter Mary Lafferty one dollar and fifty cents ­ and I do order and allow that my said two sons William & George shall enjoy the benefit of whatever monies may be due me at my decease for the [expense?] of paying my debts And the legacy herein before mentioned And after my death I do allow my said son George all and every my personal property with whatever furniture and other things that may be in and about my house ‹ And I do allow that my said son William shall have the privelige of the Coal Bank now opened so long as he continues to reside on the land hereby bequeathed, but not afterwards ­ And I hereby Ordain and appoint my two sons aforesaid William McCurdy & George McCurdy executors of this my last will and testament In witness wherof I the said James McCurdy have hereunto set my hand and seal declaring it my last will and testament [as aforesaid?] ­ Dated the twenty second day of March A.D.
