We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. _______________________________________________________________________ Westmoreland Co., PA, Will Book Vol. 3, Pg. 135 + 136 Will of David Ryall 1546 The last Will and testament of David Ryal of Rostraver Township Westmoreland County Pennsylvania. I, David Ryal considering the uncertainty of this life and being of Sound Mind and Memory do make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and form following. Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Hannah Smith one hundred dollars to be paid by my Son David in --- years after my decease Which shall be in full her Share of my Estate. Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Abigail one Bed and Bedding and one Milch cow and not to be appraised and two hundred dollars in Cash to be paid by my Son David at the time of Marriage of this my Said Daughter. It is my wish and desire that my Daughter Abigail--- live with my Son David While She remains Single as long as Circumstances Will admit and he remain Single. Should David Marry and it become needful for the Sake of peace and harmony for my Daughter Abigail to choose home elsewhere while Single, then in that Case my Son David Shall then pay her the aforesaid two hundred dollars and While my daughter Remains at home With my Son David Keeping his house, She is to be free of any charge and have a horse creature to ride on all reasonable occasions When not entirely inconvenient. My Daughter Abigail is to have all my Books, Stationary and Poetry (accept the family Bible which my Son David is to have and B—wis 2 Volumes of Dictionary of the Bible to my Son Thomas. Item, I give and bequeath to the Children of my Son John two hundred dollars to be paid by my Son David unto Some one discreet Guardian appointed by the Court in five years after my decease Which Said Guardian Shall put the money to Interest and pay to the children of my Said Son John Share and Share alike, When each arrive at the age of twenty one years. Then I give and bequeath to my Son George fifty dollars to be paid by my Son David after all the Legacies named – this my last Will are fully paid. Then I give and Bequeath to my Son Thomas Ryal one bed and bedding, one Milch Cow and one plow not to be appraised. My two Sons Thomas and David are to divide my wear apparel as they may think proper and it is not to be appraised. Item, I give and devise unto my Son Thomas Ryal and to his heirs and assigns one hundred Acres of Land it being a part of my Plantation described as follows, Commencing at Benjamin H. Davis line near the Gate thence Westwardly up the middle of my lane by a Locust running into the adjoining field Westward above what is called the locust Spring hin Rods, thence a line to Join either David McCullows or Gilbert Baked line So as to Contain the one hundred Acres Strict Measure, and further my Son Thomas is by me appointed Guardian of my unfortunate Son Nicholas and is to maintain him at his own expense and the Said Maintenance of my Said Son Shall be a lien on the aforesaid Device to my Said Son Thomas also I give to my Son Thomas all my Carpenter tools and his Shares of Stock owned by me in the Robbstown and Mount pleasant Turnpike Road Company. Item I give and bequeath to my Son David Ryal all my personal Estate of what ever description mot disposed of in the foregoing bequests and I will and direct that after my decease he give my body a decent and Christian Burial and pay all my funeral and Just debts and when David, Elizabeth and Martha Children if my Son John arrive each at the age of twenty one years he is to give each of them three head of horned Cattle and further I devise to my Son David and to his heirs and assigns my homestead including all my Land (except what is devised to Thomas) Charged nevertheless with the payment of the foregoing Legacies as they are Specified and lastly I appoint my two Sons Thomas and David Executors of this my last Will and testament revoking all former Wills by me made in Witness Whereof I have hereto Set my hand and Seal this 28th day of June A. D. 1844. David Ryall L. S. Signed and published and declared by the above named David Ryal to be his last will and testament in presence of us Who at his request and in his presents have Subscribed our names as Witnesses.
