ANDERSON, son of Joseph R. and Elizabeth (Wilson) Anderson, of Hopewell Township, York County, Penn., and Harford County, Md., respectively, was born September 9, 1835, on the homestead now owned by his brother. His father was born in Hopewell Township in 1803, and lived there nearly all his life. John H. Anderson lived with his parents until 1868, when he bought his present farm of 120 acres, and has resided there since. He was married, in 1868, to Elizabeth Wilson, daughter of David and Jane Wilson, of York County, Penn., and has three children: Joseph C., Henry M. W. and David R. Mr. Anderson is a member of the school board, and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Centre.
