HOFFACKER was born in Manheim Township, York County, in 1842, is a son of John W. and Maria (Craunur) Hoffacker, and is of German extraction. His father was born in Carroll County, Md., and his mother, in York County, Penn. His father’s death occurred in 1881, and his mother’s in 1883. Our subject was reared on the farm, and at the age of twenty-one began life for himself. He is one of the leading and most successful farmers in the township. Mr. H., in 1864, married Miss Susanna Fridinger, a native of Maryland. They have five children: Ida A., Granville T., Oliver S., John G. W. and Alice S. M. He is a Democrat, and has been school director five years. Mr. and Mrs. H. are members of the Lutheran Church.
